Paint2

Like I said I would, here is the collaborative piece basically finished.
I'm happy with this piece. Working on such a large scale is a rare luxury when in the studio, especially in my first year! I'm looking forward to seeing this hung on a wall properly.

stooooodie o 2day.

Peaceeee

Paint1

Was in the studio today.

This is my stoodie o space at the moment, pretty stoked on it.

Collaboration on a pretty huge canvas Laura had already been working on.

I think it's looking pretty sweet so far! it progressed much further than the above photo. I was just too busy painting to be taking photos, that's a problem I have!

Last photo I took which shows slightly more progression. I'll post a picture of it once it's considered finished.

P.S..

Byeeeee.

Truly a work of art

Aha! I just seen this by chance whilst surfing the net, it's the most disgusting pile of military propaganda vomit I have seen yet.

This is trying to appeal to the average girls who like Katy Perry's music, and then use that appeal to trigger the suggestion of joining the armed forces! Usually I'd never ask or promote anyone to watch or take any notice in this shit whatsoever, but please have a watch if you haven't seen it already.

Joining the people who put on nice pretty uniforms, shave their heads and set off to kill, rape, steal and abuse in other parts of the world has never looked so cool.

Join the military and risk you're life for a disgusting cause whilst Katy sits in her mansion relaxing, casually flicking channels on tv, past the news reports of the children she just helped kill.

Nice one Katy, enjoy the money.

Laura Hinshaw

I hold the belief that art should be fulfilling of it's true purposes. Art is created from life. It is a derivative of life. Therefore I hold the belief that art should show and depict the world around it in a truthful manner. Whichever style or format it may be presented in, it must always be truthful.

If the subject of a piece art is then disliked by its receiver, for whatever the reason being, I ask you to contemplate; what does this say of the world around it in which it is being received?

A world which is in fact, ultimately responsible for the creation of what?

I think Laura Hinshaw's art is rad.

The level of improvement in her work in such a short amount of time is quite exceptional. ch ch ch ch ch ch check it owwt

skate photos

I recently bought an SLR camera. I've been playing round with it a bit, took it out skating the other day. I got a few more but here's what I like out of what I got.

Work from Foundation Diploma at Northumberland College:

Liberation - Acrylics, spray paint on canvas. (???x???)

This was the first large scale canvas I painted. It liberated me creatively, it opened up a pandoras box in my mind. It was this painting that made me realize I could paint.

Triptych - Acrylics, spray paint on canvas. (???x???)

This was the the concluding piece for my 'final major project' on my foundation diploma. It was the first canvas which I actively thought about space in a contextual way. I get a much looser, calmer feel from it than most of my other paintings.

Commis1 - Acrylics, spray paint, on canvas. (???x???)

This was a piece I painted when I was doing a foundation diploma at college. This was intended as a commission for Northumberland college, which never happened..

Commis2 - Acrylics, spray paint on canvas. (???x???)

This was part two of the commission by Northumberland college.

WAR - Acrylics, oil, spray paint, sharpie marker on canvas. (???x???)

This is the most valuable painting I've done in my view. It was done whilst on my foundation diploma, over the course of about a month and a half. Every time I look at it, the relaxation and therapeutic feeling of producing it comes back to me.

The paintings on the far wall are my own. These are some of the most recent of my work. I will post photo's of the paintings individually soon, along with all the dates of the work shown.

Comments and criticism much welcomed.

Jamie.
